    *                                                              *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DBFBPNS0 gets U1011 in emergency        *
    * restart or in tracking process of *
    * FDBR and XRF alternate IMS because *
    * DMHRs are not freed properly in *
    *                      DMHR hashing process.                   *

    ****************************************************************
    When 5950 update log is read, DMHR is passed from DBFCGAB0
    but when 5950 log for the same area same RBA comes again,
    old DMHR is not needed anymore and need to be released for
    next use. This logic was not working and DMHRs in use
    were accumulated and at last, ECSA became full. It caused
    U1011 abend of DBFBPNS0.

Problem conclusion

  • GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
    In 64 bit buffer mode, the number of DMHR is not limitted.
    But it is needed to use hashing logic. So, 1024 slot was
    for hasing slot like shared VSO. It made hasing logic for
    64 bit buffer mode available.
