Problem summary


    

  • The fix for the CR RATLC00738154 that was delivered to patch
2008D, as a side effect caused untimely invalidation of the
"not found in dir" entries in the DNLC cache in MVFS. This
caused excessive miss rates in DNLC and subsequently more
view server RPC calls thus degrading performance.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The fix for RATLC00738154 has been rolled back to take care
of the performance problem. Investigation to solve the
original defect without any of these side effects is
underway.
