    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Client connection drops; *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The problem may be summarized as follows:

    1. The following statements were specified in the profile
       for the Telnet server:

       NOSEQUENTIALLU
       NOTN3270E

       IPGROUP IPALL
         0.0.0.0:0.0.0.0
       ENDIPGROUP

       LUGROUP GRPTEST
         TCPM1051..TCPM1054
       ENDLUGROUP

       LUMAP GRPTEST IPGRP,IPALL

       ALLOWAPPL TSO*
         LU TCPM1051
         LU TCPM1052
         LU TCPM1053
         LU TCPM1054

    2. A TN3270 mode connection was started with Telnet server.
When a logon applid(tso) was issued from the client, the
Telnet server assigned LU TCPM1051 to the client. The
       logon was successful.

    3. A second TN3270 mode connection was established with the
Telnet server. When a logon applid(tso) command was issued
       the second connection dropped with:

RCODE: 3003-00 LUs are all in use.

LUs TCPM1052 through TCPM1054 should have been available.
The problem does not occur if either TN3270E mode
connections are used or SEQUENTIALLU is specified.

Problem conclusion

  • To resolve this problem, module EZBTPGLP has been corrected
to avoid prematurely exiting an LU range search for an
available LU. Module EZBTDALU has been added for maintenance
    purposes only.
