APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The recover to copy function as specified with DISP(NEW)
OUTPUT(DUP | PRO) allocates only the primary volume of database
    datasets with multi-candidate volumes.
DRF allows the VOL() parameter on the DBDSL statement which will
define the DBDS with multi-candidate volumes. However, if the
original DBDS has multi-candidate volumes and the VOL()
parameter is not specified, processing is successful but the
DBDS is defined with only the primary volume.

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The logic for DEFINE processing supported multi-candidate
volumes when the DBDSL statement included the VOL() parameter.
When the VOL() parameter was not specified, the DEFINE was only
    performed with the primary volume.

Problem conclusion

  • The DEFINE logic has been modified to support a DBDS with
    multi-candidate volumes.
