Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool panel ADB2314 "Table Space
Maintenance" does not provide facilities to filter partitioned
tablespaces successfully resulting in duplicated utility steps
i.e. if two partitions of the same tablespaces are listed on
panel ADB2314 and a "C - Full Copy" command line command is
issued the resulting JCL will contain two steps each having
     COPY TABLESPACE aaa.aaa DSNUM ALL

Local fix

  • Manually delete the additional steps or use the "-" line command
to remove all but one of the partitions.

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
Panel ADB2314 has been changed such that primary commands C,
CI, O, and R operate at the partition level if the tablespace
is partitioned. New primary commands with an 'A' suffixed (CA,
CIA, OA, and RA) have been added to the panel which generate a
single step to process all partitions of a table space, even
when multiple partitions of the same table space are present
    on screen ADB2314.

Problem conclusion

  • The duplicate steps generated by primary commands on screen
ADB2314 have been eliminated and the generated steps operate
    at the partition level.

A new set of primary commands has been added to screen ADB2314
to allow processing all partitions of table spaces displayed on
ADB2314, with one step per table space.
