On DB2 UDB LUW, DB2 UDB for iSeries and DB2 UDB for z/OS the following database query might take very long until it returns, if many pages exist: "SELECT OID, CREATED, MODIFIED, RES_TYPE, EXTERNAL_OID, EXTERNAL_UID, PARENT_OID, OWNER_TYPE, OWNER_UID, INHERITANCE, PROPAGATION, EXTERNALIZED, IS_PRIVATE, NAME, IS_LEAF FROM community.PROT_RES WHERE PARENT_OID IN (?, ..., ?) AND RES_TYPE IN (?, ?) AND IS_PRIVATE = 0" The amount of parameter markers in the "IN" list for column "PARENT_OID" is arbitrary, but the low performance can be the same.

Problem conclusion
On applicable DB2 databases the indices IX2110E and IX2110F will be removed and the indices IX2110E2 and IX2110G will added. When the APAR has been applied using the Portal Update Installer, then no changes are made to the database yet. Automated application of index modifications: To modify the indices this configuration task must be executed: "config-pk73993". To remove the index modifications this configuration task must be executed: "unconfig-pk73993" Once the modifications have been reverted, the APAR can be uninstalled again using the Portal Update Installer. Example: C:\IBM\WebSphere\PortalServer\config\WPSconfig.bat config-pk73993 (6.0.1.x only!)
