PK73944: QUEUE SPACE NOTIFICATION EXIT (DFSQSPC0 AND DFSQSSP0) CANNOT BE USED IF QCF 310 IS INSTALLED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Queue Space Notification Exit ( DFSQSPC0 and DFSQSSP0 ) cannot
  be used if QCF 3.1 is installed.
  Possible symptoms:
  1) Abend0c4 DFSQMR10 after label LOGQMBAA on a LA instuction
     ( QMRLOG1 ABENDS0C4 ). AIB reason code 068 ( A068 ) was also
     received (destination busy) when trying to Unload a message.
  2) Using QCF UNLOAD via the QCF panels to delete a message
     causes the wrong message to be deleted.

  QCF 3.1 supports 3 types of overflow protection for non-shared
  queue environment:
  1. TO USE ONLY USER EXIT DFSQSPC0 - ADD PROTECTIONTYPE(UEXIT)
    All other control cards are disregarded. Control is
    passed to user exit on each queue call.
  2. TO USE OVERFLOW PROTECTION WITH TABLES AND STARTED JOBS:
       DO NOT ADD PROTECTIONTYPE(UEXIT)
       DO NOT INCLUDE AREA CONTROL CARDS
  3. TO USE OVERFLOW PROTECTION WITH AREAS AND STARTED JOBS:
       DO NOT ADD PROTECTIONTYPE(UEXIT)
       DO ADD AREA AND FAILSAFE CONTROL CARDS
  QCF3.1 MAIN MENU PANEL SHOWS WHICH OVERFLOW PRTECTION OPTION IS
  ACTIVE; OPTION5, OPTION6 or BOTH OPTIONS ARE NOT ACTIVE.
  

Problem conclusion

• Programs are changed to allow user exit protection with QCF3.1
