Error description
A VSAM file with a Journal defined fails when being opened. During PLT processing, an application issues a EXEC CICS READ FILE request. The file is closed and DFHFCN is called to open it. DFHLGST is called to connect the Journal to its logstream and invokes the stream class of the log manager to issue a IXGCONN. This is a long-term operation, so we switch from the QR TCB to the RO. While still running under the RO TCB, the GLUE (CPSM exit EYU9NLID) defined to run in XRSINDI is invoked. DFHSUEX is called to handle the exit and abends with an abend AKEX at offset x'00000980' performing an INQ_SUBSPACE_ENVIRONMENT request. The failing instruction is a load of Register8 from CSASMITK as part of the macro DFHCSAD TYPE=LOCATE,REG=R8. DFHCSAD loads L8 with the address of the CSA from AFCSA (in DFHAFCB). The task is still running under the RO TCB. This TCB has not primed AFCSA with the address of the CSA. Consequently, L8 is loaded with zeroes causing DFHSUEX to abend0C4.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend akex in DFHSUEX for a call to * * GLUE XRSINDI from DFHLGST. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A call to XRSINDI from DFHLGST for logstream connect processing is made under the RO TCB. If the GLUE has switched subspaces, the codepath in DFHSUEX upon return from the GLUE will attempt to return to the original subspace. This requires addressability to the CSA but the RO TCB does not have an AFCB primed with the CSA address. This results in an abend AKEX. Problem conclusion
DFHLGST has been changed to return to the QR TCB before invoking XRSINDI for logstream connect processing.
