    ****************************************************************
    HPIC V4R1 terminates with ABEND U3916 ( ABENDU3916 ) and message
FABJ3916E ( MSGFABJ3916E ) when all of the following conditions
    are satisfied:
    - DBRC is active.
    - The status of one of the RECON data sets is UNAVAILABLE.
    - RECON data set that status is UNAVAILABLE is defined by DFSMDA
      member.
The cause of this problem is that HPIC tries to unallocate RECON
data set although its dynamic allocation is failed in
    UNAVAILABLE status.

This APAR also includes fixes for following problems:
    - HPIC V4R1 terminates with ABEND S0C1 ( ABEND0C1 ) when all of
      the following conditions are satisfied:
      - IMS Tools Knowledge Base for z/OS is active.
      - Dynamic allocation of RECON data set is failed.
    - HPIC V4R1 mishandles the RECON1 DD that is defined by DFSMDA
      member specified in STEPLIB.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJMAIN has been modified as follows:
    - To bypass the unallocation process of RECON data set that HPIC
has been failed to allocate dynamically
    - To check whether the ICERPRT DD is specified DUMMY/NULLFILE or
      not.
    - To close the DCB of ICEPRINT DD and FABJSTAT DD after the ITKB
      process.
    - To handle the RECON1 DD correctly that is defined by DFSMDA
      member specified in STEPLIB.

FABJDMPN has been modified as follows:
    - To bypass the unallocation process of RECON data set that HPIC
has been failed to allocate dynamically
    - Not to allocate the RECON data sets when ICERPRT DD is not
      specified or specified DUMMY/NULLFILE.
    - To handle the RECON1 DD correctly that is defined by DFSMDA
      member specified in STEPLIB.

The following modules have been reassembled.
