  • -  ABENDS378 RETURN CODE 12 (X'0C') WHILE ATTEMPTING TO FREE
INACTIVE ETO SUPPORT TABLES.  THIS ABEND CAN OCCUR DURING
   IMS STARTUP, BATCH RELOAD (IZTLOAD), AND WHEN USING THE
   ONLINE REFRESH IN IZTRAN.
-  BATCH UPDATE UTILITY IZTUD1U0 DOES NOT SUPPORT PARAMETER
   DFS3650=TRX FOR SLU2/3270 DEVICE DEFAULT RECORD.

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

1. ABENDS378 Return code 12 (X'0C') while attempting to free
inactive ETO Support tables. This abend can occur during IMS
startup, the batch reload (IZTLOAD), and when using the online
refresh in IZTRAN.
2. Batch update utility IZTUD1U0 does not support parameter
DFS3650=TRX for SLU2/3270 device default record.
3. ABENDS0C1/ABENDS0C4 when using Logon Descriptor IZTFAIL.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • 1. To correct the ABENDS378 a storage reference has been added
prior to attempting the freemain. This should ensure the storage
address is both valid and the storage is not paged-out.
2. The batch update utility (IZTUD1U0) has been corrected to
process the SLU2/3270 device default control cards.
3. The ABENDS0C1/ABEND S0C4 was caused by an incorrect
register usage in the IZTFAIL routine. This has been corrected.
