Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool "R" "Run in batch" line command on
panel ADB2W1 "Work Statement List Library:" will generate JCL
which will fail with:
IEFC624I INCORRECT USE OF PERIOD IN THE DSN FIELD
when the users TSO PROFILE has NOPREFIX specified.

Local fix

  • Do not use TSO PROFILE NOPREFIX

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool that use    *
*                 the R line command to Run a WSL when they    *
*                 have set TSO PROFILE NOPREFIX.               *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Admin Tool incorrectly generates a data *
*                      set name that starts with a period when *
*                      the  ZPREFIX ISPF  variable  has a null *
*                      value.                                  *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
Admin Tool skeleton ADB2WL4 has been changed to use ZUSER when
ZPREFIX is null.
