  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • This APAR provides two new control statements of HP Load:
    - BMSETDSG= specifies the threshold value used to set the bit
    map block of each DSG.
    - WF1REC= specifies whether to create WF1 records are written to
the DFSURWF1 output work data set.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR provides two new control *
    *                      statements, BMSETDSG and WF1REC,        *
    * of HP Load utility and IPR Reload *
    *                      utility.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
This APAR provides two new control statements which are
available in the HP Load utility and IPR Reload utility:

    - BMSETDSG=(n1,...,n10)
Specifies the threshold value used to set the bitmap block
of an HDAM, a HIDAM, a PHDAM, or a PHIDAM database.
The value can be specified for each DSG.

    - WF1REC=NO
Specifies not to write the WF1 records to the DFSURWF1
or HPSRSINDX output work data set, when you do not need
the WF1 records for the secondary index or logical
        relationships.

You can add WF1REC=NO to the installation default option table
(HPSCOPTI) for the IPR Reload utility. For that, APAR PK73016
for IMS Parallel Reorganization for z/OS, Version 3 Release 2
    (FMID=H25N320) is required.

    ========================
IMS High Performance Load for z/OS Version 2 Release 1 User's
Guide SC18-9222-03 ( SC18922203 ) should be changed as follows:

The new control statements BMSETDSG= and WF1REC= are added.
    ================================================================
      2.0 High Performance Load
    | 2.2.3.a BMSETDSG control statement
    |
    | Specifies the threshold value that is used to set the bitmap
    | block of an HDAM, a HIDAM, a PHDAM, or a PHIDAM database.
    | The value can be specified for each DSG.
    |
    | This control statement is optional. If you do not explicitly
    | specify this control statement, BMSETDSG=* will be used.
    | _________________________________________________________
    | | |
    | | <_,_______ |
    | | _*_____ | |
    |  | >>__BMSETDSG=_ _(___|_value ||_)_ ___________________>< |
    | | | | |
    | | | _*______ | |
    | | |___|_value _|_____| |
    | | |
    | |_________________________________________________________|
    |
    | *
    | Specifies to use the length of the longest segment
    | in the data set group in the same manner as IMS.
    |
    | value
    | Specifies to use a threshold value from 3 to 32,000
    | or the data set group.
    |
    | You can specify one parameter or a list of parameters. If one
    | parameter is specified, it will be used for the first data
    | set group of the database. Otherwise, parameters must be
    | separated by commas and enclosed in parentheses. The n-th
    | parameter will be used for the n-th data set group. You can
    | specify up to 10. If the number of value specified is less
    | than the number of data set groups, '*' will be used for
    | other data set groups for which values are not specified.
    |
    | Example 1.
    | BMSETDSG=1000
    | The threshold value for the first DSG of the
    | database is 1000.
    | Example 2.
    | BMSETDSG=(1000,*,1200)
    | The threshold value for the first DSG is 1000
    | and the value for the third DSG is 1200. For other
    | DSGs, the length of the longest segment in
    | the data set group will be used.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    | 2.2.3.b WF1REC control statement
    |
    | Specifies whether to create WF1 records that are written to
    | the DFSURWF1 or HPSRSINDX output work data set, which are
    | used as input to resolve a logical or secondary index
    | relationships. The WF1REC control statement is not valid for
    | a HALDB. This control statement is optional. If you do not
    | explicitly specify this control statement, WF1REC=YES will
    | be used.
    |
    | __________________________________________________________
    | | |
    | | _YES___________ |
    | | >>__WF1REC=_|_NO ___________|_________________________>< |
    | | |
    | |__________________________________________________________|
    |
    | YES
    | If the database has a logical relationship or a secondary
    | index, the records are written to the DFSURWF1 output
    | work data set.
    | NO
    | WF1 records are not written to the DFSURWF1 or HPSRSINDX
    | output work data set even if secondary index or logical
    | relationships are defined in the database.
    | To resolve the secondary index, you have to run a
    | database scan utility in a separate job step.
    |
    | Note: The DFSURWF1 data set is needed to run the IMS
    | Database Prefix Resolution utility for logical
    | relationships after this reload job step.
    | For such Non-HALDBs, do not specify WF1REC=NO.
