Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool Change Management IMPORT feature
  end RC=20 with no additional messages when attempting to
  import a changes file containing:
  ALTER ALTER INDEX <aaa>;
  ALTER ADD COLUMN <aaa>;
  ALTER ADD COLUMN <aaa> ;

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool V72 using   *
  *                 the Import feature of change management.     *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If  the statement  being  imported is   *
  *                      invalid,the registration process ends   *
  *                      and return code 20 is presented.  The   *
  *                      invalid  statement  is not  presented   *
  *                      making diagnosing  and remedying  the   *
  *                      problem difficult.                      *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  When importing a change or registering a change through Object
  Comparison Tool, the process may fail with
   "Register error. rc=20" and no other messages are provided.
  

Problem conclusion

• When an invalid statement is encountered, the statement in error
  will be written to the SYSPRINT file or presented as part of the
  output of the process.
