Error description
VERIFY DSN Match for STEPLIB and IMS DD in Master and Subspace
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All installations that use IMS Database * * Recovery Facility with any of its Integrated * * Auxiliary Utilities (IAUs) including HPPC, * * DEDB PC, HPIC, Index Builder, and LIU. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: There are several improvements in DRF's * * use of the IAUs -1- The DSNs that are * * dynamically allocated to contain the * * reports of the IAUs have been changed * * in the last node, the time-stamp node. * * The last digit of the last node is * * the milliseconds digit as opposed to * * the tenths of seconds digit. This * * reduces the possibility that * * duplicate DSNs are used for alloc. * * in cases where DRF Jobs have been * * cancelled.-2- The DRFUNIT keword of the * * REPORT control statement now defaults * * to SYSDA. The prevents an error in * * dynamic allocation when this keyword is * * omitted.-3-When any of the IAUs has * * been requested via the UTILGBL control * * statement or the IB, IC or PC * * keywordsof the ADD control statement, * * DRF now insists that the DDs of JOBLIB, * * STEPLIB and IMS match among three * * different DRF JCL procs including * * DRF Master A/S JCL, DRF Subordiante * * A/S JCL, DRFPROC, and the DRF Utility * * A/S for IB and DFSPREC0 ,DRFIAX. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * * CAREFULLY EXAMINE NEW PRODUCT DOCUMENTS * **************************************************************** DRF is now more precise in its use of the IAUs. Errors in the user interface are reduced. Orphaned DSNs are reduced.
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Comments
If your installation uses the IAUs feature of DRF, you may need to change the JCL procedures in your procedure library. Ensure that the STEPLIB and IMS DDs match in your DRF JCL procedures. This prevents mis-matched load modules used for running DRF and the IAUs.
