  • MSGDFHAP0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset
    X'00000B94' in module DFHTSUT running the CEOS transaction.
    The running task at the abend time is I$$1.
    Failing Instruction: x'58706008'   REG6 has a value of
    x'4740C0A4' which is operating instructions rather than an
    addressable value.

    *                      using CEOS.                             *

    RCF outputs menu lists of terminals, reports, TD queues or jobs.
    The next transid is set to read the input screen, which can be
    action requests against any of the list items. The input
    consists of a possible series of 4 byte areas containing
    an SBA, a buffer address and an action code.
    The list processors (DFHEMST3, DFHEMSR3, DFHEMSP3 or DFHEMSJ3)
    loop through the input 4 bytes at a time until the data length
    processed equals the data input. PK45212 incorrectly changed
    the loop processing so that it iterates one more time than
    is required.
    The processing within the loop updates the pointer to the
    DFHPSIPS control block, based on the row and column calculated
    from the input data; it then updates fields within the control
    block at offset x'08' for 2 bytes and at offset x'0B' for
    1 byte.
    The row and column values calculated in the final, incorrect
    iteration of the loop are unpredictable and may result in
    the corruption of storage.
    In this case the corrupted fields were within a TSUTE
    resulting in the reported abend in DFHTSUT.

Problem conclusion

  • UK29951
    DFHEMSR3, DFHEMSP3, DFHEMSJ3 and DFHEMST3 have been altered to
    loop the correct number of times when processing the input
    data.
