APAR status

Error description

  • When a IBM ClearCase Remote Client attempts to connect to a CCRC
    server that is on a Linux/Unix platform, if that user is a memb
    er of more than 32 operating system groups, they will receive a
    login error:
    
    unable to login to specified server.
    unable to login: username or password is incorrect
    
    Although the user may be able to use other methods of logging in
    to the system (such as SSH, telnet, native terminal) they were u
    nable to login via IBM ClearCase Remote Client
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • If a CCRC user who is a member of more than 32 groups tries to
    log in to a Unix system, the credentials are rejected.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearCase versions 7.0.0.5, 7.0.1.4, and
    7.1.0.1.
