PK70030: ABEND0C4 WHEN ISSUING SHOW GLOBALS COMMAND IN QMF V810 AND V910

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An ABEND0C4 / ABENDS0C4 can occur in unpredicatable locations
  when a SHOW GLOBALS command is issued in QMF V810 and V910 if
  a very large global variable is defined. The ABEND may occur in
  other application code such as GDDM module ADMATPRM.

  *                      ABENDS0C4 can occur in GDDM or any      *
  *                      other unpredicatable location when      *
  *                      the SHOW GLOBALS command is issued.     *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  Code in DSQELSTD sent the entire text field of a global
  variable's contents to GDDM to be displayed in a field on the
  GLOBALS screen that is only 50 bytes long.  Global variables
  can be 32K bytes long.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code in DSQELSTD has been amended to send no more than 50 bytes
  of a global variable's contents to GDDM for display in a 50
  byte field on the GLOBALS screen.
