Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool V72 who *
    * wish to change or unload tables with LOB *
    *                 columns.                                     *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Changes to objects with LOB columns *
    * was previously restricted or had the *
    * limited capability. Additionally, LOB *
    * column data was unloaded to the SYSREC *
    * data set, with the limitations on the *
    * maximum record length allowed. *
    *                                                              *
    * With this APAR, change functions which *
    * limited or restricted the changing of *
    * LOB columns now have the expanded *
    * capabilities to allow changing those *
    *                      objects.                                *
    *                                                              *
    *                      Additionally,objects with LOB columns   *
    * can now be unloaded with base table *
    * data going to the SYSREC data set and *
    * the LOB column data going to the data *
    * set as directed by the LOB TEMPLATE. *
    * This capability requires that the job *
    * be built as a work statement list. *
    *                                                              *
    * The MIGRATE function supports unloading *
    * LOBs either using a work statement list *
    *                      or using JCL.                           *
    *                                                              *
    * For Change Management installations, *
    * APAR PK70014 is required, which also *
    *                      delivers  similar  function  for  DB2   *
    *                      Object Comparison Tool.                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    This APAR delivers the supporting elements in DB2
    Administration Tool to allow changing of objects
    with LOB columns,and to unload LOB column data to
    a separate output data set using a LOB TEMPLATE.
