    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DEDB UNLOAD (FABCUR1) got U3700 ABEND *

    ****************************************************************
DEDB UNLOAD (FABCUR1) with RMODTYPE=S and SDEP=PHYSICAL options
got U3700 ABEND with FABC3794E message.
    FABC3794E message is as follows:
FABC3794E - INVALID "BLOCK TYPE ID" DETECTED IN AREA nn
                (AREANAME: nnnnnnnn)
                - VALUE EXPECTED: X"08" ("IOVF" CI)
                - VALUE FOUND : X"00"

Problem conclusion

  • When DEDB UNLOAD (FABCUR1) with RMODTYPE=S and SDEP=PHYSICAL
options attempted to write the area information record (AIR) for
the area to be reloaded immediately after reading 2nd CI,
in order to take a lock with the UNLOAD sub-task of other areas,
FABCUR1U (unload sub-task) set the address of its work area
(UCT) to the output control table (OCT).
Since FABCUR1 with above-mentioned options did not have the
logic to load the OCT address, as a result, the address
of its UCT was set incorrectly to the address of IOVF CI buffer
field (UCIB@BFR) at the IOVF buffer header table (IBH) + x'290'
    offset instead of OCT.
While unloading a segment on the IOVF CI, when FABCUR1U referred
the address of the IOVF CI buffer, which was a incorrect one,
detected incorrectly that the IOVF block type (DBLKBTID) is
    wrong.

The macro UR1WSTG0 has been modified to add the flag to indicate
the area name mismatch between OLDACB and NEWACB when
    SDEP=PHYSICAL option.
The module FABC1INI has been modified to add the validation
of the area name between OLDACB and NEWACB when SDEP=PHYSICAL
    option.
The module FABCUR1U has been modified to load the OCT address
correctly to write the AIR to USR file.

The IMS High Performance Fast Path Utilities for z/OS User's
Guide Volume 2: Fast Path Basic Tools Version 2 Release 2
(SC18-9238-02) should be added and changed as follows:

       FABC3788E SDEP=PHYSICAL SPECIFIED BUT
                 - CI SIZE UNMATCH BETWEEN OLDACB AND NEWACB
                 - RANDOMIZER RMODTYPE=G SPECIFIED/ASSUMED
     | - AREA NAME SPECIFIED IN OLDACB NOT FOUND IN NEWACB

Explanation: Program FABCUR1 found that the SDEP=PHYSICAL
          keyword parameter is specified, but
     | . the CI size of an area does not match between OLDACB
     | and NEWACB
. the REORG keyword is not specified or NEWACB DD is
provided with or without the HIERCHNG= keyword
            parameter.
     | . the area name defined in the OLDACB was not found
     | in the NEWACB

System action: FABCUR1 terminates with an abend code of 3788.
     | Programmer response: Correct the error, and rerun the job.
