Error description

  • You plan on using CICS Batch Application Control to set your
file dataset names during CICS COLD start. You start CBAC with
option NODSN PRIMARY to force CBAC to set the DSNAME from the
control file. If a CBAC batch request utility SET FILE request
is run with OPENSTATUS OPEN specified or if CICS is started
    COLD, you receive message:
    .
CBKCI8562E 1 FILE filename RLS INQUIRE error detected:
                             EIBRESP=0000005D EIBRESP2=00000001
    .
The INQUIRE DSNAME request receives the DSNNOTFOUND response
instead of setting the dataset name as defined in the control
file from a previous ADD FILE request from the file maintenance
utility. This only fails for files defined as RLS.

You start CBAC with option NODSN PRIMARY to force CBAC to

If a CBAC batch request utility SET FILE request is run with

    2. AN INVALID SELECTION FILTER BEGINNING WITH * DOES NOT CAUSE
AN ERROR MESSAGE TO BE DISPLAYED.

        ERROR DESCRIPTION:
When an invalid selection filter beginning with * is used,
instead of displaying an error message, the Add New File
        screen is displayed.

This can be demonstrated from the ISPF Interface CICS BAC
        Primary Option Menu:

          - Select option 1 'Select a CICS region' and Enter.
          - Place an 'S' beside a CICS regions and Enter,
this displays the Region Resources screen.
          - Key a Selection filter of *AB
          - Select option 1 VSAM files and Enter,
this displays the Add New File screen.

However, only a trailing asterisk "*" is allowed, so AB* is
correct but *AB or A*B should result in an error message.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    3. THE CICS REGION SELECTION LIST SCREEN DOES NOT ALLOW
SELECTION OF MORE THAN ONE CICS REGION

        ERROR DESCRIPTION:
The CICS Region Selection List screen says "Select one or
more CICS regions below and press ENTER to continue".
However it does not work for more than one CICS region.

This can be demonstrated from the ISPF Interface CICS BAC
        Primary Option Menu:

          - select option 1 'Select a CICS region' and Enter
          - place an 'S' beside two CICS regions and Enter
          - key a Selection filter of Default
          - select option 1 VSAM files and Enter
          - <F3> returns to the Region Resources screen
          - <F3> returns to CICS Region Selection List screen

The user might expect that after the second <F3> it would
remain on the Region Resources screen with the next CICS
region displayed in the Current CICS region field.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    4. JOB NAME NOT DISPLAYED ON ISPF INTERFACE FILE STATE
INFORMATION SCREEN WHEN FILE MAINTENANCE UTILITY LIST CMD IS
       RUN FOR FILE

        ERROR DESCRIPTION:
The Job name field is not displayed on the ISPF interface
        File State Information screen.

The File State Information screen is reached from ISPF
interface option 1, select a CICS region, option 1 VSAM
Files, select a file, option 4 File state information.

It is on this screen that the Job name field is not
        displayed.

    5. CBKM050 CBKPMAIN ISPF SERVICE ERROR RC8 TBADD CBKOBJRG
       CBKRINI1

        ERROR DESCRIPTION:
You customized the CBKRCBAC REXX EXEC and the CBKCFTBL
member to add CICS APPLIDs. You invoke the REXX EXEC to
start the ISPF dialog and perform the following actions:

         - choose option 3 - maintain the control table options list
         - delete your only control file dataset entry
         - PF3 back to the primary option menu
         - Go back into option 3
         - Insert a CBKPARMS dataset name
         - PF3 back
         - enter a 1 to save and exit

The CBKPMAIN primary ISPF panelid displays MSGID:

        ISPF service error, service= TBADD, rc= 8, arg= CBKOBJRG,
        key= applid ,loc= CBKRINI1 , at , msg= .

The failure occurs due the CBKCFTBL member containing a row
with a duplicate existing CICS APPLID.
