Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Admin Tool who use the Migrate  *
  *                 function.                                    *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When  Migrate  is performed for data    *
  *                      only,  the step  to run the  ADB2GEN    *
  *                      program can take a long time to run.    *
  *                      Also, the time to create the migrate    *
  *                      jobs  can  take a long  time in  the    *
  *                      'space estimation' phase.               *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *

  When Migrate is performed for data only, the step to run the
  ADB2GEN  program can take  a long time if there are a lot of
  objects (e.g. thousands) in the migrate scope.
  
  Also,  space estimation was done  for table spaces defined with
  DEFINE=NO and no rows have been inserted into any of the tables
  in the table space.   This is unnecessary  processing that adds
  increases the time needed to create the migrate jobs.
  

Problem conclusion

• Performance  improvements have been made during the step to run
  the ADB2GEN program when migrating data only. Also, performance
  improvements  have been made when there are table spaces in the
  migrate scope that were defined with DEFINE=NO and no rows have
  been inserted into any of the tables in the table space.
