APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • 1) LOOP: If the IMSPA internal queue high-water mark is hit
and the P queue has no entries to free then a loop will occur.
    2. ABENDS0C4: If an ESAF thread abend causes a ROLB and
reschedule of a transaction, the Recovery Token queue pointer
    is corrupted.

Local fix

  • Work around by specifying minimum of REGION=6M since we are
hitting high-water mark for internal queues and looping
    trying to free up storage.

    ****************************************************************
This APAR is correcting the following problems:
    1. Loop occurring in IPI4PR91/IPI4PRA1/IPI4QMGR. If the IMSPA
internal queue high-water mark is hit and the P queue has no
entries to free then a loop will occur.
    2. ABEND0C4 in IPI4PR91/A1. If an ESAF thread abend causes a
ROLB and reschedule of a transaction, the Recovery Token
    queue pointer is corrupted.

Problem conclusion

  • The following changes have been made to correct these problems:
    1. Fix QMGR to always allow allocation of first entry for
P queue, even if in high-water mark processing and
ensure high-water mark is set to allow this.
Possible workaround - increase REGION size.
    2. Fix pointer corruption.
