Error description

• The DB2 Object Comparision Tool users attempting to process
  large volumes of DDL may experience the following errors:
  IEC143I 213-C8,IFG0194D,CSCXMD,IEFUSM,CATOUT,
  ABEND80A
  ABEND878
  IRX0043I Error running GOCGCMP, line 1953: Routine not found
  IRX0662E EXECIO error. Unable to obtain storage.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: In R710 ,when user does DDL to DDL compare   *
  *                 of large DDL files.                          *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When an version file is compressed by   *
  *                      DFSMS  and  it has  been  opened  for   *
  *                      update, it results in a S213-C8 open    *
  *                      error.                                  *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  Intermediate version record count is written in a header record
  instead of  reopening and updating the dataset with the version
  record count .
  Part1: Incident regarding EXECIO abend 878 is now resolved for
         v71 and v72.
  Part2: Incident regarding S213-C8 open error is now resolved
         for v71 only.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been fixed  in V7.1 only.
