    ****************************************************************
    - PK66856 for IMS DEDB Fast Recovery
New function adds supporting DEDBs that use SDEPs to be
    registered as non-recoverable.
DFR handles an non-recoverable DEDB with SDEPs and an
non-recoverable DEDB with no SDEPs equivalently.
If an area has been updated and the update is compromised,
DFR marks "Recovery Needed" on DBRC. And DFR shows "RCVNEED
(NONRCV)" on a "STATUS" column of a DEDB AREA STATUS LIST.

Comments

  • The following modules have been modified.
    *
DFRLFCKA - This module was changed so that SDEP CI-RBA in
X'4086' log record (DEDB buffer checkpoint) might be
               saved into DMACCRBA.
DFRLFCTA - Add code to process X'5954' and X'5955' log records.
DFRL595A - This module was changed so that SDEP CI-RBA in
X'5954' and X'5955' log records might be saved into
DMACCRBA, and SDEP CI-RBA in X'5958' log record
might be compared with DMACCRBA in order to reset
               DMACCRBA.
DFRNFCTA - This module was changed so that the integrity of the
non-recoverable AREA with SDEPs might be verified.

    = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE =
    ========================
IMS DEDB Fast Recovery for z/OS Version 2 Release 2 User's Guide
and Reference (Document Number: SC27-0928-03) should be changed
    as follows.
    ================================================================
    Appendix A. Program functions
     A.5 First log processing
A.5.5 Reconstructing the data CI update status
DFR reconstructs the data CI update status by using the log
       records after the selected checkpoint.

    | The following log records contain the update image or the
    | update information for the data CIs:

        X'4026'
            ...
        X'4086'
            ...
        X'4086'
            ...
        X'5950'
            ...
        X'5951'
            ...
    | X'5954'
    | First SDEP buffer open log record
    | X'5955'
    | Next SDEP buffer open log record
        X'26'
            ...

    | For these log records, except X'5950', X'5951', X'5954',
    | X'5955', and X'4086' (DEDB buffer checkpoint), the update
images of the data CIs on them are determined to be written
into DEDB areas if no related I/O completion log records
exist, because they have the update images for the committed
       transaction.
           :
The X'5951' log record means there are some CI updates for a
       nonrecoverable DEDB area.
    | The X'5954', X'5955', and X'4086' log records mean there are
    | some sequential dependent segments in a buffer.
    | DFR uses the X'5954', X'5955', and X'4086' log records for a
    | nonrecoverable DEDB area in order to get the update
    | information.
DFR uses the log record with the succeeding X'5958' and
X'5612' log record to determine whether any CI updates for
the nonrecoverable DEDB area are compromised.
