Error description

  • VIC=Y results in DFS301A or FABJ0177E. This occurs because the
VIC function uses an incorrect length for the DBD name field
and thus uses an incorrect DB name.

    ****************************************************************
HPIC Image Copy function can not treat correctly the DBD name of
the index database that is searched by IDXSRCH=Y when the length
of the DBD name that is used to search the index database is
shorter than the DBD name of the searched index database.
The cause of this problem is that the length of the DBD name of
the database specified in ICEIN is incorrectly used for
    processing the searched index database.

Depending on how the database data set is allocated, the results
of HPIC Image Copy function differs as follows:
    - HPIC terminates with RC=08 and message IEC130I ( MSGIEC130I )
for OPEN macro to the searched index database when one of the
      following conditions is satisfied:
      - The database specified in ICEIN and the searched index
        database are allocated dynamically.
      - The database specified in ICEIN is allocated by JCL DD and
the searched index database is allocated dynamically.
    - HPIC terminates with RC=08 and message FABJ0177E
( MSGFABJ0177E ) for NOTIFY.UIC command to the searched index
database when one of the following conditions is satisfied:
      - The database specified in ICEIN and the searched index
database are allocated by JCL DD.
      - The database specified in ICEIN is allocated dynamically
and the searched index database is allocated by JCL DD.

Also, this APAR fixes the following problems to occur when
DBALL=Y is specified in ICEIN control statement:
    - &GDG as symbolic variable is not applied to the image copy
data set name of the searched database when following
      conditions are satisfied;
      - The database specified in ICEIN is an index database.
      - VIC=Y or HDPC=O is specified.
    - The image copy data set of the database registered as
recoverable is not created when following conditions are
      satisfied;
      - HPIC Concurrent Image Copy function is used.
      - The database specified in ICEIN is registered as non-
        recoverable in DBRC.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJIDXN has been modified as follows:
    - To set the correct length of the DBD name for the searched
      index database.
    - To check whether the searched index database is allocated by
      DD card in the JCL.
    - To clear the HPIC control block information that is inherited
from the database specified in ICEIN.

FABJDBAL has been modified to clear the HPIC control block
information that is inherited from the database specified in
    ICEIN.

The following modules have been reassembled.
     FABJIDX7 FABJIDX8 FABJIDX9 FABJIDXA
