Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool WSL CLONE function appended
    quotation marks to unquoted lowercase column names resulting
    in a SQLCODE -206 error:
    DSNT408I SQLCODE = -206, ERROR:  aaa_aaaaaaaa_aaaa_aa IS NOT A
    COLUMN OF AN INSERTED TABLE, UPDATED TABLE, OR ANY TABLE
    IDENTIFIED IN A FROMCLAUSE, OR IS NOT A COLUMN OF THE
    TRIGGERING TABLE OF A TRIGGER
    Additional search args: double quotes 42703 SQLSTATE

  • EDIT WSL to remove quotation marks after clone process
    

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2  Admin & Object Comparison Tool *
    *                 who  uses WSL cloning  function having lower *
    *                 case characters.                             *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When WSL has lower case (example an SQL *
    *                      INSERT),cloning it  results to a column *
    *                      names  wrapped in quotes.   Running the *
    *                      cloned WSL with the quoted column names *
    *                      results in SQLCODE -206.                *

    *                      This is due to the given  workname      *
    *                      (to be quoted) is not verified for      *
    *                      lower case characters.                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    Changes are done to verify the given workname to be quoted is in
    lower case characters along with verifying upper case characters
    along with other symbols and new line extenders.
