Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Object Comparison Tool V7.2. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Panel ADB2UPA has a new field - the * * BindError field. This field allows * * the custome to specify h ow BIND or * * REBIND errors are to be handled by * * ADBTEP2. The allowed values for * * this field are MAXE, SAVE and IGNORE. * * The value provided for this field is * * passed to the ADBTEP2 program using * * the new BINDERROR() parameter. * * * * When MAXE is specified as the BINDERROR * * value, the failing BIND or REBIND * * command will be written to the ADBHOLD * * table.ADBTEP2 will use the MAXE setting * * to determine if processing continues or * * halts: * * * * If MAXE(0)is specified or if MAXE() is * * omitted, a BIND or REBIND error will * * cause the WSL processing to stop. * * * * If MAXE(-1) is specified, processing * * will continue. * * * * If a value >0 is provided for MAXE,the * * BIND or REBIND error will increment * * the MAXE counter and processing will * * stop if the number of errors has * * reached the value. * * * * When SAVE is specified as the BINDERROR * * value, the failing BIND or REBIND * * command will be written to the ADBHOLD * * table.ADBTEP2 will continue processing. * * * * When IGNORE is specified as the * * BINDERROR value, the failing BIND * * or REBIND commands are ignored and * * not written to the ADBHOLD table. * * ADBTEP2 will continue. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. * **************************************************************** With this enhancement to DB2 Object Comparison Tool V7.2, a method of allowing the ADBTEP2 Batch Restart program to stop on a failing DB2 command but not on a failing BIND command is introduced.
