PK65542: PE CLIENT SUCCESSFUL CONNECT TO DB2 VIA A PORT, BUT AFTER A RECYCLE OF DB2 PORT IS UNUSABLE, MUST RECYCLE OM PE SERVER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• OM is running using port 40026 on system DTS1, and PE client can
  connect to it without problems, however after stop/start
  DB2/DTS1 connecting PE again failed because port 40026 is not
  know anymore and not listed via NETSTAT.
  Only restart of the Omegamon STC solves problem.
  Problem was found only after new maintenance was applied.

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  The TCP/IP task is not restarted after the DB2 subsystem has
  been restarted. The TCP/IP task is needed for the PEClient
  communication.
  
  PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
  Once a DB2 subsystem is recycled, the TCP/IP task was not
  restarted correctly. This task is needed for the PEClient
  communication. Now the TCP/IP task is restarted when the DB2
  subsystem is up again.
