Error description

  • This APAR addresses two problems:
    * Add integration with Optimization Service Center to the
      CAE GUI and
    * the CAE Client will not launch correctly.

    Currently, Visual Explain does not support DB2 V9, the CQM CAE
    needs to integrate with Optimization Service Center in order to
    maintain functionality.

    This fix will add integration with Optimization Service Center
    to the CAE GUI.

    This APAR also addresses a local environmental issue that may be
    Introduced with a Windows patch. This issue can affect the
    directory path reference to DB2TEMPDIR and IVE_DIR in the
    cqm_client_internal.bat startup script. This may cause the
    startup script to become invalidated and prevent the CAE Client
    from launching.

Local fix

  • Local fix for the invalidated startup script:
    - after making a backup copy,
    - edit C:\Program Files\IBM\DB2 Query Monitor
    v2.3\bin\cqm_client_internal.bat,
    - and remove the backslashes from the
      * DB2TEMPDIR and
      * IVE_DIR path references.

    Example:

    change \"%DB2TEMPDIR%\" to "%DB2TEMPDIR%"

    change \"%IVE_DIR%\" to "%IVE_DIR%"
