Error description

  • I am using IMSPI V210 to format log records and got the
    following problem :
    It has to do with the MVS APPC System Segment for OTMA;
    Item ID = 87.
    If, in the TMAMCTL IMS XCF Message Control and Header
    Definitions, the message type is not set (TMAMCMGT=x'00'),
    then the TMAMHDR State Data Common Section only shows the
    length :
    +0148 TMAMHDR.... State Data Common Section
    +0148  TMAMHLEN... 0048                          <=====
    +0190  TMAMSEC.... Security Data
     I understand this section cannot be formatted according to the
     message type in such case, but those state data should be
     given in dump format for a length of x'0048'. There are
     important flags in the state data we need to analyse.
     At least the following log records type are impacted.
       03    Output Message
       35    Output Message Enqueue
       37    Syncpoint message transfer
       31    Communications GU
       36   Output Message Dequeue

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MVS APPC System Segment for OTMA *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If the TMAMCTL (IMS XCF Message Control and Header
    Definitions) message type is not set (TMAMCMGT=x'00'),
    the TMAMHDR State Data Common Section only shows the
    length and not the data.

Problem conclusion

  • IMSPI Knowledge modules have been corrected to format the
    TMAMHORG segment based upon the value of TMAMCMGT.
    This applies to the following codes 01, 03, 31, 32, 35, 36,
    37 and 38.
