Error description

  • Although the LCHKPT=N parameter is specified, DFR does not
    correctly output the backout information for the DL/I database
    as follows:
    - Backout Required PSB list
    - The DBRC commands written to DBRCOUTL/DBRCOUTV DD

    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Although the LCHKPT=N parameter is *
    * specified, DFR does not output the *
    *                      backout information for DL/I database   *
    * to the following correctly: *
    *                      - Backout Required PSB list             *
    * - The DBRC commands written to *
    *                        DBRCOUTL/DBRCOUTV DD.                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    - When LCHKPT=N parameter is specified, DFR has used the oldest
      among the following ID as USING CHKPT.
      - BCPLDCID
      - BCPLCKID
      - BCPFCKID
      But it is possible that BCPBMPID is the oldest checkpoint.
      And DFR does not have to check BCPLDCID because BCPLDCID is
      not related to DB recovery.
      So DFR should check BCPBMPID instead of BCPLDCID.
    - If LCHKPT=N parameter is specified in DBCTL environment,
      and the logs started from the selected USING CHKPT do not
      include x'5607' log, DFR cannot get the UORTIME.
      DFR should save the UORTIME in x'47' log and x'4030' log to
      output the backout information correctly in this situation.

Problem conclusion

  • The following modules have been modified.
    (x = 8, 9 and A)
    *
    DFRDCHPx - This module was changed so that DFR uses the oldest
               among the following ID as USING CHKPT when LCHKPT=N
               parameter is specified.
               - BCPBMPID
               - BCPLCKID
               - BCPFCKID
    DFRLUORx - This module was changed to save UORTIME in x'47' log
               and x'4030' log.
