  • SQLCODE551 received on GRANT EXECUTE of package Q.DSQESSDS when
running DSQ1BPKG. Problem happens only when executing DSQ1BPKG
on a remote DB2 for VM database. SQLCODE -551

*                 connecting to remote DB2 for VM  servers.    *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Users running bind job DSQ1BPKG to      *
*                      remote DB2 for VM databases will        *
*                      receive an SQL code -551 on package     *
*                      DSQESSDS (QMF V8.1) or DSQFSSDS         *
*                      (QMF V9.1).                             *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
Module DSQISSDS, used only at remote DB2 for VM servers, had
invalid stored procedure code in it. This code was removed.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Users running at remote DB2 for VM servers, or any remote non
DB2 for z/OS servers cannot use the CALL statement. If this
situation is detected, QMF will issue new error message DSQ23711
'You cannot issue the CALL statement while connected to this
server.'
