Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool V7.2. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Panel ADB2UPA has a new field - the * * BindError field. This field allows * * the customer to specify how BIND or * * REBIND errors are to be handled by * * ADBTEP2. The allowed values for this * * field are MAXE, SAVE and IGNORE. * * The value provided for this field is * * passed to the ADBTEP2 program using * * the new BINDERROR() parameter. When * * MAXE is specified as the BINDERROR * * value, the failing BIND or REBIND * * command will be written to the ADBHOLD * * table. ADBTEP2 will use the MAXE * * setting to determine if processing * * continues or halts: * * If MAXE(0) is specified or if MAXE() * * is omitted, a BIND or REBIND error * * will cause the WSL processing to stop. * * If MAXE(-1) is specified, processing * * will continue. * * If a value >0 is provided for MAXE, * * the BIND or REBIND error will * * increment the MAXE counter and * * processing will stop if the number of * * errors has reached the value. When * * SAVE is specified as the BINDERROR * * value, the failing BIND or REBIND * * command will be written to the ADBHOLD * * table. ADBTEP2 will continue * * processing. When IGNORE is specified * * as the BINDERROR value, the failing * * BIND or REBIND commands are ignored * * and not written to the ADBHOLD table. * * ADBTEP2 will continue processing. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF. * **************************************************************** With this enhancement to DB2 Administration Tool V7.2, a method of allowing the ADBTEP2 Batch Restart program to stop on a failing DB2 command but not on a failing BIND command is introduced.
