• QMF V81 message  DSQ20712 when issuing QBE DRAW
  command with synonyms.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF TSO/CICS V810 and V910 QBE users     *
  *                 who use tablename synonyms.                  *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message DSQ20712 "DRAW  needs a valid   *
  *                      name." is issued if the DRAW command    *
  *                      is issued with a tablename synonym      *
  *                      in QBE.                                 *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  When long name support was added to QMF in version 81, code
  was added to check the length of table owner names, as in
  the high level qualifier of the table name--USERID.TABLENAME.
  If a tablename has a synonym, the field that would contain the
  owner name is set to blanks but the field that contains the
  length of the owner name was not set to zero.  This mismatch
  ultimately led to the error condition.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code was added to reset the owner name length to zero when
  the owner name is set to blanks.
