Error description
At shutdown you are receiving DFHAP0001 abend0C4 in DFHACP at offset x'D34' on a TM instruction (9108 A02F). DFHACP expects R10 to be a TCTTE address when in fact it is a TERMID. R10 was loaded from the TCA +X'8'. This occurs when attempting to attach transaction CATD which is defined as SHUTDOWN(DISABLED). . Similar problems, including loops can be seen for transaction CATA.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Transactions CATD and CATA are still * * being run during shutdown although * * defined as SHUTDOWN(DISABLED). * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Transactions CATD and CATA are still being run during shutdown even through they are defined as SHUTDOWN(DISABLED). For CATD this results in a loop of system dumps for abend 0C4 in DFHACP at offset X'D3E'. For CATA this results in a loop of DFHAC2007 messages stating that "Transaction CATA cannot run as CICS shutdown is in progress". The looping is occurring because DFHZACT only checks for a successful response after the ATTACH of CATD or CATA. These attaches are failing with a "NOT_ENABLED_FOR_SHUTDOWN" response. As the attach has failed, DFHZACT adds the request to the chain of attach requests. So the attach will be attempted again. CATD is abending on top of this looping problem, because in DFHACP while it attempts to decide what is the correct error message to issue it attempts to use the TCTTE. However instead of a TCTTE DFHACP finds a Terminal ID. This leads to a program check within DFHACP when it attempts to use the terminal ID as an address. Problem conclusion
UK23312 UK28023 UK33905 DFHACP has been altered so that a check is made to ensure that a TCTTE is available before using it. DFHZACT has been altered so that further checks are done on the return code of the attach request for CATD and CATA. If the attach has not been successful due to NOT_ENABLED_FOR_SHUTDOWN then the attach is not re-attempted.
