PK58480: PANEL ADB221E "EDIT SQL STATEMENT" TRUNCATES DATA

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool panel ADB221E 'Edit SQL Statement'
  truncated the SQL entered by the user.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool using       *
  *                 panel ADB221, Execute SQL Statements         *
  *                 from Screen Input, that use the EDIT         *
  *                 primary command to create one or more        *
  *                 SQL statements with a combined length        *
  *                 greater than the size of the input           *
  *                 panel, approximately 1500 bytes.             *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: On panel ADB221, the EDIT primary       *
  *                      command allows the user to enter more   *
  *                      data than can be displayed on panel     *
  *                      ADB221. This results in truncation.     *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  The truncation is caused by the way that ISPF works.
  

Problem conclusion

• Panel ADB221 has been changed to make the input field a
  scrollable field with a maximum length of 32767, the maximum
  allowed by ISPF. Truncation will no longer occur as long as the
  total length of all SQL statements is less than 32767.
