Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool panel ADB21T line command ALC can
  cause failure of CM ( Change Management ) REGISTER process if
  ALTPART is specified in panel adb27c . Error is seen in
  panel ADB2CRO as error message:
  .

  Additional symptoms: adbc030e
  

Local fix

• To change number of partitions, use AL ( ALTER / RDEF ) in
  panel adb21t instead of line command ALC.
  .
  Failure only seen when using ALC ( Alter Columns ) line command
  in panel adb21t.
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Admin users that use ALC function's          *
  *                 ALTPART primary command to change the        *
  *                 limitkey ranges of a partitioned table.      *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using the ALTPART command to add   *
  *                      partitions or change limitkey values,   *
  *                      an error may occur during the           *
  *                      subsequent register process:            *
  *                      MSGADBC030E REGISTER FAILED REASON      *
  *                      CODE = , REASON: Additionally,          *
  *                      SQLCODE104 or other errors may occur    *
  *                      if a limitkey value is omitted.         *

  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF.                               *

  When changing the limitkey values and registering the change,
  the ALTER statements were not passed to the register process.
  Additionally, verifying that a limitkey value was provided was
  not being performed.
