Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Object Compare v7.2 comparing *
    *                 views.                                       *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The original problem was caused by *
    * incorrect data. Customer specified the *
    * same current path on source and target, *
    * then masked SCHEMA. OC compared masked *
    * value from source and original value *
    * from target and reported the difference *
    * correctly. Additional problem found: *
    * SYSIBM and SYSPROC schemas are added *
    *                      implicitly to SET PATH schema_name      *
    *                      statement from DDL source/target which  *
    * may lead to differences when comparing *
    *                      paths.                                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    If schemas SYSIBM and SYSPROC were not explicitly specified in
    the SET PATH schema_name statement they were added at the front
    of the SQL path in the DDL file causing difference during path
    compare and leading to unnecessary drop/recreate of the view.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been fixed.
    NOTE: Although the default value for schemas in the SET PATH
    statement contains the value of CURRENT SQLID at the end, only
    SCHEMA mask may be used for masking the names in the path.
