Error description

  • This APAR provides the following new functions to the HD Pointer
    Checker (HDPC) component.
      1. Recovery Needed Flag Notification Support
HDPC can notify that checked databases are marked as recovery
needed in RECON via WTO message and non-zero return code.
The return code is customizable via the RECOVNEEDED keyword
      of the HPSRETCD statement.
      2. Completion message for BLKMAP
New completion message is provided for the PROC=BLKMAP
process. Since pointer checking is not performed for
BLKMAP, it's useful that this process can be recognized by
just looking at the completion message.

    ****************************************************************
By this APAR, HD Pointer Checker(HDPC) supports the following
    functions:

    1. Recovery Needed Flag Notification
     - HDPC issues a new message MSGFABP2122I when a database or a
partition to be checked is marked as recovery needed (the
recovery needed flag in the RECON data set is on).
     - This function is available when the following conditions are
       met:
HDPC stand Alone JOB with DBRC=YES
The value specified by the new parameter RECOVNEEDED
keyword of the HPSRETCD statement is greater than zero.

    2. RECOVNEEDED keyword of the HPSRETCD statement
     - The RECOVNEEDED keyword is added to the HPSRETCD statement.
     - When a database or a partition is marked as recovery
needed, the return code of HDPC will be the one specified by
       the RECOVNEEDED keyword.
     - This function is available when the following condition is
       met:
HDPC stand Alone JOB with DBRC=YES

    3. TYPE=BLKMAP Completion Message
     - HDPC issues a new message MSGFABP0005I instead of
MSGFABP0001I when a job with TYPE=BLKMAP option ends
       normally.
     - This function is available when the following condition is
       met:
         HDPC stand Alone JOB
