Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool panels ADB21KR 'Rebind Package' and
ADB21PR 'Rebind Application Plan' do not support the new DB2 R8
REOPT syntax:
REOPT( NONE | ALWAYS | ONCE )
and DB2 9 REOPT syntax:
REOPT( NONE | ALWAYS | ONCE | AUTO )

This APAR will introduce the support.

Local fix

  • Use the PROMPT option:
 DSN commands (BIND, REBIND and FREE)            ===> YES
to allow the BIND command to be edited before execution.

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: Uses of Admin 720 using the RB - REBIND      *
*                 command for Plans and Pacages.               *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The new  NONE/ALWAYS/ONCE(DB2 V8 and    *
*                      higher) and AUTO (DB2 V9 and higher)    *
*                      were missing from panels ADB21KR and    *
*                      ADB21PR.                                *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
The panels ADB21KR and ADB21PR now have the options for DB2 V8
and V9.
