    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: New function added to allow DEDBs *
    * that use SDEPs to be registered *
    *                      as non recoverable.                     *

    ****************************************************************
Nonrecoverable DEDBs must register with DBRC and are intended
for use when data is nonessential and expendable. This new
function allows nonrecoverable to extend to the SDEP portion
of an area. It lifts the prior restriction disallowing a
DEDB with SDEPs to be authorized. Prior to this change, message
DFS3711A NONRECOVERABLE DEDB AUTHORIZATION ERROR DEDB=dddddddd
AREA=aaaaaaaa was issued and the area with SDEPs was
unauthorized and stopped. The area could be used once the DEDB
was registered without the NONRECOV keyword by either INIT.DB
    or CHANGE.DB command.
                                   -
This new function allows authorization of a DEDB that has
SDEPs and registered with the NONRECOV keyword. If IMS
should enter into REDO processing through an emergency restart
( ERE ), XRF, or FDBR action, recovery for that DEDB will be
    skipped.
Message DFS3711W NONRECOVERABLE DEDB INTEGRITY WARNING
REGISTRATION INCLUDED SDEPS is issued to indicate that SDEPs
will not be recovered. This message is an indicator that the
continued use of a nonrecoverable DEDB with SDEPs may result
in errors and a ABENDU1026 if not reinitialized or restored
    from a valid backup.

Comments

  • THE FOLLOWING MODULES WERE MODIFIED TO CORRECT THE REPORTED
    PROBLEM:
    * DBFMPOP0 DBFERS20 DBFVPRO0 DBFCMOC1 DBFDBAU0 DBFESCD

DBFMPOP0 - code modified to issue message DFS3711W when
SDEPs have not been recovered and the area is in preopen
processing. For example: an XRF alternate preopen after a
TKO by the new active that did not REDO the SDEPs.

DBFERS20 - code modified to issue message DFS3711W when
SDEPs have not been recovered by an emergency restart.

DBFVPRO0 - code modified to allow a VSO area to
authorize if NONRECOV and SDEPs are present.

DBFCMOC1 - code modified to allow a bulk open to
proceed for an area if NONRECOV and SDEPs are present.

DBFDBAU0 - code modified to allow area authorization
when NONRECOV and SDEPs are present.

DBFESCD - flag added to control DFS3711 messages.
