PK56172: DROP DATABASE MIGHT TAKE TOO LONG WHEN THE DATABASE CONTAINS PARTITION-BY-GROWTH (PBG) TS OR IX IN EXCEPTION STATE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A long running loop (65535 iterations) in DBET drop path of
  PbG table space. The value 65535 wa garbage.
  
  Might affect DROP DATABASE or DROP TABLESPACE,
  DROP INDEX, etc, as long as PbG table space or
  index on PbG table space is involved.

  PBG table space or index. A looping control value was
  incorrectly set which caused excessive looping.
  

Problem conclusion

• DB2 has been fixed to loop correctly when dropping a PBG
  table space or index.
