Error description
Legacy fix ec108846 was opened because dsmapconv fails on v671 and v672 maps. The intial review indicated that the utilitiy works as designed: "if any of the input rules cannot be converted, the conversion process will fail" Upon further review it is noted that since the utility generates a successful conversion on V8.1.0.1 ( 114 ), then this is a defect and will be fixed.
Local fix
NONE WTXCQ CQ5277 INTERNAL
Problem summary
Resolved this for now, by putting a note in the WTX 8.1.0.2 (rev 2) and 8.1.0.3 release notes. For a future release, will put the content in the Utility Commands information unit (pdf/plug-in). I submitted CQ2262 to add the content to the Utility Commands info unit (pdf/plug-in) in a future release. For WTX rlse 8.1.0.3, I put the following content in the WTX 8.1.0.3 (as well as 8.1.0.2 (rev2)) release notes after verifying it with Cymby for technical accuracy: [CQ5277] When you use the dsmapconv command (Map Migration utility) to convert a map from WebSphere Transformation Extender version 6.7.1 to WebSphere Transformation Extender version 8.1.x, after the type tree has converted successfully, some of the input map rules might not be able to be converted, and will cause the dsmapconv map conversion process to fail. You can view the results in the dsmapconv log file. If the dsmapconv map conversion process fails because some map rules were unable to be converted, do the following procedures in Map Designer to complete the conversion process: 1. Open the map. 2. Delete the unresolved rules. 3. Compile and rerun the map.
