Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool ADBTEP2 jobs end with
  ADB5146E UNEXPECTED SQLCODE IN :DELETE ADBPART
  ADB5034E ADBT005W -
           Delete failed for ADBCHKPT control record
           for WORKLIST(aaaaaaaa). Resubmit job to complete
  processing.
          Processing may not be complete.
  The DB2 MSTR address spaces shows DSNT375I for the ADBTEP2 plan
  and the DSNT501I message identifies REASON 00C90088 and ADBSCH
  .

Problem summary

  *                      due to a deadlock on the ADBPART table. *
  ****************************************************************

  Exclusive  locks are  obtained on the ADBPART table to delete,
  insert, and select rows, but there is no COMMIT in the ADBTEP2
  routine, save_table_details.  In addition, table ADBPART is in
  the same simple tablespace as table ADBCHKPT,with which it has
  a parent-child relationship.
  

Problem conclusion

• (1) Add COMMIT in save_table_details.
  (2) Modify the sample job, ADBCHKPT, to create the checkpoint
      tablespace, ADBSCH, as  a  segmented rather than a simple
      tablespace;
  (3) create a new sample job, ADBCHU04, that converts ADBSCH
      from a simple to a segmented tablespace.
  (4) unable to reproduce the issue.
