PK52850: CHANGE MANAGEMENT DOES NOT COMPLETELY SUPPORT ROTATE PARTITION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool Change Management does not
  completely support ROTATE Partitions.  Instead of issuing
  a rotate command it drops and recreates the objects.

Problem conclusion

• Whenever OC detects rotation it will generate ALTER TABLE...
  ROTATE PARTITION statement and issue a message that n rotates
  has possibly taken place.  Data will be unloaded for each
  partition that will be dropped from running the ALTER TABLE ...
  ROTATE PARTITION statement(s). Limitation: ALTER TABLE...
  ROTATE PARTITION statement will be generated if number of
  partitions is the same on source and target. For n partitions
  n-1 rotations are allowed.
