Error description

  • Within XRF environment, when signon is performed making use
of lowercase userid, the signon fails with message DFHCE3530.
    Message DFHXS1205 is also issued.
Within the XRF environment, DFHXSSB verifies the userid via
RACROUTE TYPE=EXTRACT via the INQUIRE_PASSWORD_DATA routine. The
security manager in this case is the Basic Security Manager
(BSM). Normally the BSM will uppercase the userid itself but not
in the case of an EXTRACT. This is because an extract can be
used to retrieve all kinds of data including mixed case data.
Thus, the need for CICS to uppercase the userid before the
    EXTRACT call is made.
This is very similar to what CICS did on releases running on MVS
    (reference APAR PK05931).

Local fix

  • Signon using uppercase userid or code UCTRAN within associated
Profile and Typeterm definitions (in a correct combination) to
result the input to be uppercased.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Userids entered in lowercase are not *
    * accepted after a CEBT PERFORM TAKEOVER. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
On an XRF system a takeover is done by the alternate CICS, and
    any VTAM terminals are reconnected.
If a user attempts to logon at a reconnected terminal with a
lowercase userid, the signon is rejected with DFHCE3530
Your userid is invalid. Please retype.
Entering the same userid in uppercase works. Entering the
same userid in lowercase on the same terminal before the
    takeover also works.
CESN performs an EXEC CICS SIGNON which, in turn, performs a
RACROUTE REQUEST EXTRACT, but DFHXSSB does not upper case the
    userid before performing the extract.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHXSSB has been changed to uppercase the passed userid
    before a RACROUTE EXTRACT request.
