Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool, ALTER table fails on a partitioned
  table migrated from db2v7 to db2v8. Panel ADB21TAV results in
  invalid part# for the partition.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users who have created objects in a DB2      *
  *                 version prior to  V8 who are attempting      *
  *                 to manipulate them in DB2 V8.                *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When  objects are created in a DB2      *
  *                      version  prior to V8  are migrated      *
  *                      (moved) into  the V8  environment,      *
  *                      the number of partitions is set to      *
  *                      zero even for partitioned objects.      *
  *                      This causes an inaccurate display.      *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  Added CASE statement to select in ADB21TA.PANEL to take care of
  V7 objects in V8 environment.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problems have been fixed.
