Error description

  • When importing changes r720 of a table with a  string constant
    or comment contains a semicolon the user gets:
    Error occured when parsing the following stmt :

    NULL, PROJNO CHAR(6) FOR SBCS DATA NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT ';',

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: When user  imports changes  on R720 for a    *
    *                 table that contains a semicolon in string    *
    *                 constant or comment.                         *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Object compare V7.2  when the comparing *
    *                      source catalog table (having  semicolon *
    *                      in string constant) with target catalog *
    *                      table  (not  having the string constant *
    *                      semicolon) fails  n step T04REG, during *
    *                      register  change  resulting in  parsing *
    *                      error RC 20.                            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    Parsing error occurred during token COMMIT, because the import
    changes inserts COMMIT in change statements ADBCHGS. The error
    is not due to table having semicolon in string constant.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The problem is been fixed only in V7.2.
