Error description

  • FABAHEXT, the DEDB Hash Check module, terminates with
    ABENDS0C6, if HPIC Advanced Copy Services FASTIC=(,DUMP) runs in
    parallel. The DEDBC reporting process should be serialized in
    all processes, but HPIC Advanced Copy Services don't currently
    don't serialize. If DEDBPC Hash Check runs in HPIC
    FASTIC=(,DUMP), you can get other unpredictable result.

Local fix

  • Don't use FASTIC=(,DUMP)

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HPIC V4R1 Image Copy function *
    *                      terminates with ABEND S0C6 ( ABEND0C6 ) *
    *                      at FABAHEXT + X'E8BF' when FP database  *
    * data sets are processed in parallel *
    *                      with DEDBPC=Y and FASTIC=(,DUMP).       *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    HPIC V4R1 Image Copy function terminates with ABEND S0C6
    ( ABEND0C6 ) at FABAHEXT + X'E8BF' when FP database data sets
    are processed in parallel with DEDBPC=Y and FASTIC=(,DUMP).
    Because HPIC doesn't serialize the DEDBPC reporting process, the
    reporting process terminates with abend.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJFCDN has been modified to serialize DEDBPC FUNC=SCANTERM
    using ENQ/DEQ and to issue DEQ (RET=HAVE) macro at ESTAE routine
    for avoiding the duplicated ENQ for the same resource.

    The following modules have been reassembled.
     FABJFCD7 FABJFCD8 FABJFCD9 FABJFCDA
