Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of QCF, which use display for top and *
    * last active destinations to find the status *
    * of the queues. This APAR is for customers *
    * which have shared queues environment. *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In some cases the top *
    *                      destination(destinations) show 0.0%     *
    * usage of primary and overflow queues, *
    * which is not true. The destinations are *
    * sorted in descending order based on the *
    * number of records they have- thus the *
    * display of the most active destinations *
    * is correct- only the percent = 0.0% is *
    *                      not correct.                            *
    * The destinations have reached the limit *
    * of messages on primary queue and should *
    * be moved to the overflow - they are *
    * marked to be on overflow- but either *
    * are in transition, or there is no *
    * overflow structure defined -the percent *
    *                      is set to 0.0%.                         *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Programs have been fixed to disregard the flag set for overflow
    destinations, if there is no overflow structure defined or if
    the overflow records are less than the number of records for the
    destination.
    An additional check for 100.0% os made and the display is change
    to 99.9% - to fit in the output positions.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem with 0.0% display for top destinations in shared
    queues environment with no overflow structure defined is fixed.
